Surpassed by the basketball and baseball teams for the title of the most beloved programs in Lubbock, Tech football has struggled to bring the fans out to Jones Stadium in droves as it did just a decade ago. It will be interesting to see how the gameday presentation changes and new stadium policies help that problem.
Of course, the most notable change at Jones Stadium this fall will be alcohol sales for the first time but that will also mean fans can no longer exit the stadium and re-enter. The alcohol sales and reduced concession prices at basketball games were a tremendous success this year and now the university hopes that those policy adjustments have a similar impact on the attendance at the corner of Marsha Sharp and University.

Of course, the best way for Wells and his program to bring fans back is to win games. Tech will have its first opportunity to please the home faithful this year with a pair of games against teams that should offer little resistance.
