This weekend is Duke's final nonconference game of the season, and should allow the team to move to before starting ACC play next week against Virginia Tech in a highly anticipated night game in Wallace Wade Stadium.
The biggest story of the week has been how Duke will adjust to the numerous injuries plaguing the roster, with five starters missing the game against Baylor and numerous others coming in to Week Four day to day in their recoveries.
Quentin Harris helped Duke to a win in his first career start last weekend, throwing three touchdown passes and showing an aerial passing attack that belied his game film to that time. Up until last week's start, Harris had mostly been called on as a specialty quarterback -- running the ball in short yardage situations or goal line scenarios.
But offensive coordinator Zac Roper called an impressive game that highlighted Harris' touch down the field, dialing up a long touchdown throw to Johnathan Lloyd and two wide open passes to TJ Rahming in the end zone.
It was a career high in touchdown receptions for Rahming, the senior wideout, but he wasn't the only Duke player to log career highs. Hudzick set a career high and led the team with nine tackles, all solo, in slowing down Baylor's passing attack. Fellow defensive back Leonard Johnson, also playing in reserve of starter Jeremy McDuffie , logged his first career interception and interception return for a touchdown when he picked off Baylor QB Jalen McLendon and ran it back 53 yards for a score to put the game away.
Duke hopes to get out of today's game with a win, no injuries and some momentum heading into the Coastal Division battle against the Hokies next weekend. The Eagles, averaging There will be a huge crowd.
