Owen can play in a variety of positions, but with Mark Winter and now Rich Rendall's side has made the centre back position his own. A cultured player who is very comfortable on the ball as well as commanding in the air and in the art of defending.
Cool under pressure, quick and very hard working, he is effective at both ends of the pitch.
The Wilts coaches commented that Josh was incredibly professional throughout the trials. Yes, that's our Josh!
Sam Butt has been with the side since joining for the U12' season. Sam is our Kante.
Lightening quick and seems to cover every blade of grass on the pitch with his non-stop running. Sam is a player that has probably played every position on the pitch during his time with the club.
A serious team player who frightens the opposition with his speed.
Thom Feesty Feest has been at Salisbury since 7 years old. A consistent and reliable defender or holding mid that reads the game so well. Our vice-captain for the last years.
Finally, a face that seems to be have been around the club forever, well, actually he has! Alfie Hawke; made his debut at U6 level and has been an ever-present since then.
On the pitch for the youth side on a Saturday and a Sunday, as well as at 1st team games home and away on a Saturday afternoon. Alf is a student of the game and has led the team on the pitch for the last 9 years coming up through the ages.
Alf is the age group captain. Congratulations to all five and enjoy the experience.
Each club is limited to 5 players going for trials, so to have all five make it through is a fantastic achievement for the club, that we are very proud of.
If you have the ability and desire, we have the pathway for you. The JPL is the highest standard available outside of the academy system and is used by many large non-league and League 2 clubs' talent centres to bring through players to their U18 academies.
No more so than 17 year old Josh Sommerton who made 10 appearances in the first team and no doubt will continue to build on that this coming season.
Head coach Richard Rendall is joining up with the U16s this season after his U18s have now moved into adult football. Richard has brought through several players, including Sommerton, to first team football, as well as seeing one of his squad, Ryan Penny make 6 appearances for England school boys this spring.
This is an excellent chance for aspiring U16 players to really push themselves to the next level. To reserve a place please contact Mark Winter.
